Victory Christian College is a co-educational College that caters for individual needs and interests within a nurturing and disciplined environment. In 2013 Victory Christian College will be offering VCE for year 11 and in 2014 a full VCE program.
The curriculum at Victory is designed to be flexible to meet the diverse range of learning needs of their students. Support and extension programs are offered across the core subjects at all year levels with additional Maths and English programs provided at year Nine and Ten to assist with VCE preparation. The College provides a comprehensive technology and electives based program in secondary with increasing diversity at senior levels. These subjects provide opportunities for students to develop skills in specific areas of interest and include: Woodwork metalwork building and Construction electro technology robotics food Technology textiles art Graphics and multimedia. Students also have the opportunity to be involved in preparation training and racing of Human Powered Vehicles.
Performing Arts Program
Victory specialises in Theatre Performing Arts with a major school production at the end of each year. Since 2007 students have performed in productions of Peter Pan annie beauty and the Beast aladdin and Alice in Wonderland. Over 100 students are involved in the production each year. Music classes are a compulsory part of the curriculum from prep onwards with progressive skill development where students can study advanced music as an elective. Students also have the opportunity to learn drums guitar vocals or piano play or sing with the chapel band or join the school choir.
Victory has an extensive Physical Education and Sporting Program with qualified PE Teachers on staff providing a comprehensive skills development curriculum beginning at Prep. Through the College House System students compete in Swimming cross Country triathlon and Athletics Carnivals. Squads also compete in a variety of interschool and state level competitions each year. Through the Christian Schools Sports Network elite athletes have the opportunity to compete in selected sports at a National Level. Year Nine and Ten students can choose to study Outdoor Education sports Science and Advanced P. E as part of the Electives Program. Girls from Grades Three up are able to be involved in the Victory Netball Club Winter and twilight competitions.
Each term a variety of activities are offered to students to enable them to pursue interests and develop skills outside the normal curriculum through our Enrichment Program. Activities change each term and include Photography art and craft activities sporting and physical education activities fishing exercise classes cooking film-making music and singing circus skills and missions. The enrichment program is delivered by staff parents and local community members with expertise within their field.
Developing leaders is an important part of the Ethos at Victory. Students are provided with many opportunities to build leadership skills in both Primary and Secondary areas. The College has an active Student Representative Council primary and Secondary House Captains and Senior School Captains. Student leaders participate in nationally recognized leadership development programs and senior students have the opportunity to attain the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
