Santa Sabina College established in 1894 is an independent Catholic school for girls K-12 boys K-4 in the Dominican tradition.

Our Campuses

Santa Maria del Monte Primary School caters for girls from Kindergarten to Year 5 and boys from Kindergarten to Year 4. Total enrolment is 400. There is a strong emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy acquisition in the early years. Strategies such as small group instruction differentiated learning tasks and open-ended challenges cater for individual differences. Specialist teachers provide learning support and curricular and co-curricular enrichment in languages music pE and sport. The development of strong partnerships between school and home is a significant priority at Del Monte. Martin De Porres Middle School caters for girls in Years 6 & 7. Total enrolment is 200. Middle Schooling provides an opportunity to cater for students in the transition years and offers a rich relevant and holistic curriculum and an integrated approach to learning in the COMPASS program. Year 7 students experience the KLAs in the Secondary School setting while Year 6 classes are held in the Middle School environment. Santa Sabina Secondary School caters for girls Years 8 to 12. Total enrolment is 640. A rich and diverse learning environment where students are well known fosters the achievement of personal excellence and caters for individual needs and interests. A wide range of courses is offered across Stages 4 and 6. Our young women are equipped with the values and skills for life-long learning and success. Pastoral programs and the building of a strong spirit of community are a high priority at Santa Sabina. Consistently our outstanding HSC results are celebrated. The College’s Tallong Campus is a Retreat conference and Outdoor Education Centre located in a beautiful bush setting in the NSW Southern Highlands. It offers a variety of activities to support curriculum-based programs. Santa Sabina students experience a sequential program of Outdoor Education from Years 4-9. Retreats music and Leadership camps are just some of the events held here.

Co-curricular Life

Co-curricular opportunities include 22 sports encompassing local competitions and representative level participation. Diverse music ensembles such as choirs orchestra and mini maestros programs are available. We enjoy a long tradition of successful public speaking and debating. The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and outdoor leadership programs develop skills of independence team work and self esteem.

Global Education

Opportunities for overseas travel and immersion experiences to South Africa and Central Australia provide rich global education experiences. The College's Service to Community program and social justice initiatives encourage an awareness of students' gifts and their responsibilities as advocates for justice and for those who are marginalised or voiceless.

Resources

The College is extremely well resourced with extensive and beautiful grounds apool courts and ovals. A technology-rich learning environment is provided for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. We are fortunate to enjoy the support of very involved Parents & Friends' and Ex-Students' Associations as well as the participation of the Dominican Sisters in the College community. In addition to Mary Bailey House awork-based 40 place community childcare centre catering for children from 6 weeks to 5 years out Of School Hours Centre (OOSH) is located on the Primary Campus providing Out of School Hours Care from 7. 00 - 8. 30 am and 3. 15 - 6. 00pm on school days and Vacation Care from 8. 00 am to 6. 00 pm during holidays and on pupil-free days. The liturgical life of the College the academic co-curricular and pastoral programs all support our objective for students to grow in the truth - VERITAS.
