Established in 1979 macedon Grammar School provides quality Christian education to approximately 160 students from Prep to year 12. Macedon Grammar School offers an individualised work program in the primary years and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma as an Excellent Alternative to VCE at Year 11 and 12. Our mission at Macedon Grammar School is to offer a quality christian Education environment that nurtures the God given potential of each student enabling them to become more understanding of people around them both here and in the world and to develop an attitude towards life-long learning that will enable them to grow and adapt with the times. The prime aim of Macedon Grammar School is to prepare children spiritually intellectually emotionally socially aesthetically creatively and physically to take their place as responsible citizens in their church Home country and the world.
Macedon Grammar School's junior curriculum includes an individualised learning program (PACE) which covers English mathematics social Studies and Word Building as well as other conventional classes such as Computers art & Craft drama creative Writing literature Health and Science. Macedon Grammar School provides specialist teachers for weekly lessons in Swimming physical Education french and Talent Development. The school also liaises with specialist instrumental teachers to provide onsite lessons.
At years 7 through 10 we offer a broad-based curriculum offering subjects and content relevant to the skills needed in our society. As we teach the International Baccalaureate Diploma classes in years 11 and 12 our aim in these middle years is to prepare the students academically and emotionally for a successful final two years of high school. Electives offered to Middle School students include: French art drama Humanities History and IT.
Macedon Grammar School's senior students complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program - a broad based curriculum with exciting 21st Century relevance. The IB program has an international reputation for offering the highest quality education promoting international mindedness and a positive approach to classroom learning. It aims to develop inquiring Knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the IB works with schools governments and international organisations to develop a challenging program of international education and rigorous assessment.
Macedon Grammar School offers some full or partial scholarships to families in need of financial support to ensure quality Christian Education is available for their child.
