Good Shepherd is a co-educational Pre-Prep – Year 12 College providing quality christian education to families around the Noosa and hinterland districts and northern end of the Sunshine Coast. Good Shepherd Lutheran College is informed and supported by the awarded and highly respected Australian and International Lutheran Education network of schools. We foster a strong culture of pastoral care across the entire Pre-Prep - Year 12 campus. This is professionally supported by our College Pastor college Counsellor and Health Centre personnel. Our College provides comprehensive contemporary Pre-Prep - Year 12 learning programs which are linked to create a smooth transition for students across each stage of schooling at Good Shepherd Lutheran College: - the Australian Federal and Queensland state Governments' educational initiatives plsu Christian Studies- our College is a candidate school of the International Baccalaureate Organisation for implementation of both the Primary Years and Middle Years Programs- extensive curriculum delivered by dedicated professional teachers and learning and enrichment programs for gifted and challenged students- structured and curriculum relevant Excursion/Camp Programs- co-curricular programs available including academic performance arts and sporting extensions- involvement in Inter-school and Intra-school Sporting Competitions- an invaluable life learning experience at 'Googa' our rural outdoor campus for students in Year 6 (3 days) and Year 10 (one month)- Japanese and German studies with exchange programs between sister schools.
Good Shepherd Lutheran College has developed an excellent academic record consistently performing very well in NAPLAN testing with results for all year levels at or above the national averages. In 2011 GSLC’s NAPLAN results were again of a high standard and have been acknowledged by the Premier and Minister for Education of Queensland. "We have consistently noted your school's particularly high performance in these tests and commend you and your staff for your commitment in helping students achieve these high level literacy and numeracy standards".
